OpenAI is set to challenge Google’s dominance in the online search market with its new tool, SearchGPT.
This experimental service, distinguished visually from ChatGPT, is launching with a limited user base of 10,000 on a waiting list, aiming to provide a more interactive search experience by featuring a sidebar with links to external sites. Developed in collaboration with major publishers like News Corp, Axel Springer, and the Financial Times, SearchGPT represents a significant stride in utilizing generative artificial intelligence for search functionalities, Financial Times reports.
Supported by a $13 billion investment from Microsoft, OpenAI’s initiative reflects its strategic move to expand its offerings and compete directly with Google.
